A final movie for the Sound! Euphonium franchise has been announced, slated for release in 2026. Titled Sound! Euphonium, The Final Movie, the film was revealed during the Sound! Euphonium 10th Anniversary Event held in mid-March.
The upcoming film is described as the “theatrical version of Season 3,” suggesting it will continue the story arc that premiered in the third season of the anime in April 2024. This season, which consisted of 13 episodes, adapted the story of Kumiko’s third year in high school. The new character Mayu Kuroe, voiced by Haruka Tomatsu, was introduced in this season.
The Sound! Euphonium franchise first captured audiences with its initial 13-episode television anime series, which premiered in April 2015. The success of the series led to a “flashback” film titled Sound! Euphonium: The Movie – Welcome to the Kitauji High School Concert Band in April 2016. A sequel series, Sound! Euphonium 2, followed with 13 episodes in October 2016.
