Nijigen Expo 2025 returns bigger and better than ever this weekend, featuring a lineup of international guests, exciting competitions and performances, and even an anisong dance party for fans to enjoy. The event will take place over the course of three days at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre, from 21 to 23 February.

Special Guests
Cosplayers


Nijigen Expo will once again feature a star-studded lineup of international and local guest cosplayers, from veteran cosplayers such as Taryn Cosplay from Italy and Thames Malerose from Thailand, to rising stars such as Saya the Fox from Germany, Oichi from Russia, and Kamidayhehe from Vietnam. Fans will definitely want to grab this opportunity to get a photo with their cosplay idols!
VTubers



VShojo, one of the biggest names in the VTubing scene, will once again join Nijigen Expo with an expanded lineup of five VTuber guests. Visitors will have the opportunity to win one-on-one meet-and-greets with Henya The Genius and the recently-debuted VShojo Nova members by purchasing their exclusive event merchandise.
Independent VTuber Shylily will also join the lineup, a real treat for VTuber fans as this event will mark her first ever appearance at a Malaysian convention.
Performers


A thrilling lineup of live music and dance acts will light up the stage throughout all three days of the event, promising to keep fans entertained with their vibrant and engaging performances. The lineup includes prominent names such as Ryoji Takarabe and Aozora Fumi from Japan, as well as Midori 氧氣 and Karei & ooo, who will join local performers DJ Harimao and the Harimeow Idol Group on stage.
Speaking of local performers, the stage will also be packed with appearances from local talents, including B-Sidetrack, Luz·Radiantnine, JIEI実瑛 & NICO 優心 from Hachinari Productions, Trouble 茶煲, and of course our homegrown idol group KLP48.
Artists


If you’re more interested in the artistic side of things, Nijigen Expo will also be hosting live drawing sessions from renowned Japanese artists Kevin Bayashi and Shinn Uchida (a.k.a. Mangalivepaint). Art lovers will have the opportunity to watch these talented artists work their magic in person, and even take home some of their merchandise at their booths.
Cosplay Runway

Nijigen Expo will also be hosting a Cosplay Runway competition where contenstants will stand a chance to win up to RM1,200 in cash, as well as a certificate and special gift pack. Contestants will perform a two-minute stage skit, which will be judged by professional cosplayers Taryn, Prince De Guzman, and Vann, on criteria such as originality, craftmanship, and audience appeal.
Doko Koko Collaboration Café


The popular anime themed café Doko Koko will be hosting a booth at Nijigen Expo in conjunction with their ongoing Heaven Official’s Blessing collaboration, where fans will be able to purchase exclusive merchandise and win exclusive discount vouchers that can be redeemed at the café later on.
Most exciting of all, by purchasing merchandise at the Doko Koko booth, fans will stand a chance to join meet-and-greet sessions with popular cosplayers Yao and Alma.
Anisong Random Dance

Last but certainly not least, visitors to Nijigen Expo will have the opportunity to hit the dance floor to popular anisong tracks such as BIBBIDIBA and Luka Luka Night Fever, accompanied by beats from DJ Kuro and a performance from the dance group E-I-E-I-O.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what you can expect at Nijigen Expo, as visitors will also be able to explore a wide variety of fan-made and original merchandise sold at the many exhibitors’ and artists’ booths present at the event.
