The countdown to Dune: Awakening has officially begun, with the highly anticipated open-world, multiplayer survival game set to launch on Steam on May 20th, 2025.
But players don’t have to wait until May to begin their journey. The Character Creation & Benchmark Mode for Dune: Awakening is now live on Steam, offering fans a chance to start crafting their characters and ensuring their PC is ready for the game.
Character Creation & Benchmark Mode
After facing the Gom Jabbar test, players will be able to begin customising their characters, where they can choose their character’s looks, home planet, caste, and mentor, with choices such as Swordmaster, Bene Gesserit, Mentat, and Trooper. The character can be saved and imported into the full game when it launches.
Additionally, the Benchmark Mode lets players test their PCs by witnessing epic in-game scenes, including ornithopter flights and dramatic sandworm encounters. Those who download the Character Creator & Benchmark Mode will also receive a special code for an exclusive Frameblade knife skin to use when the game launches.
Pricing and Pre-Order Bonuses
The base game will be available for $49.99 (approx. RM222), with pre-orders opening soon. Pre-ordering Dune: Awakening will grant players a unique in-game item – the Terrarium of Muad’Dib, an adorable desert mouse decoration for their base.
