All The Updates From The Capcom Spotlight & Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase

Capcom recently unveiled a slew of new details for its upcoming projects during the back-to-back Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase and Capcom Spotlight livestreams. These included updates for Monster Hunter Wilds, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and the Onimusha series.

1. Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds is dropping this February 28, with a new trailer unveiling a new locale, the Iceshard Cliffs, and a new monster, Hirabami. It was also revealed that a second Open Beta for the game will launch this February 7, featuring new monsters, the Base Camp’s Training Area, and additional online features.

2. Onimusha

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is set to release in 2026, with the game’s producer Akihito Kadowaki and game director, Satoru Nihei sharing their thoughts on the series’ latest instalment via a video message. A remaster of the 2002 title Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is also in the works, currently slated for a 2025 release.

3. Capcom Fighting Collection

During the livestream, MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics announced a surprise drop on the Xbox One, allowing Xbox players to enjoy some of the most beloved titles in fighting game history. It was also revealed that the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will release this 16 May, featuring a lineup of 8 iconic Capcom fighting games as well as some new features.

4. Okami

Fans excited for the upcoming Okami sequel can now purchase a special game bundle, which includes Okami HD and The Game Awards 2024 Best Sim/Strategy Game nominee Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. The bundle will also come with special Okami collaboration items.

5. Street Fighter 6

Mai Shiranui officially joins the Street Fighter 6 roster starting February 5, available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Mai will mark the third Year 2 character for Street Fighter 6, alongside M. Bison and Terry, with the upcoming fan-favorite Elena rounding out the roster. Fans can also check out this month’s new “Say Hello to Mai!” Fighting Pass, which contains items related to Mai and SNK’s Fatal Fury series.

6. Capcom Cup 11

The pinnacle of Street Fighter e-sports returns with the Capcom Cup 11, bringing the hype from March 5-9, 2025 with a grand prize of $1 million. Tickets to the event at the famed Ryogoku Kokugikan sumo arena in Tokyo, Japan are available now, and those watching from home can tune in live on YouTube and Twitch.
