To learn more, we asked organisers Team Comfy VT a few questions ahead of the exciting festivities this October 13 at JioSpace, Petaling Jaya.

Can you give us a brief introduction to Team Comfy VT and your role in organizing the V-Muse music festival?
Team Comfy VT is an international comfy VTuber guild. We mainly focus on driving collaborations between VTubers and people/businesses seeking VTuber services, making magic happen. Alongside Team Comfy VT founder Elena Yukihyo, co-founder Kumomo Rin, and our other awesome teammates, we have Elmer, who mainly focuses on the production and the quality of the show. Someone has to make sure that our guests are showcased at their best right?
What inspired you to organize a music festival centered around VTubers, and how did this idea come to life?
We see the amount of VTuber love in the region and with the amount of people enjoying VTuber content, we wanted to bring about their favourite and among the world’s most influential VTubers to put on an unforgettable show. These VTubers who have never had Malaysia on their radar, wouldn’t it be great if they did a specially made show for everyone?
What unique elements or surprises can fans expect from V-Muse?
For one, it’s not a convention – it’s a music festival. Think Coachella or Good Vibes but with VTubers. Instead of just a karaoke session, think of them doing music acts, collaborating and participating in acts never before heard in public. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Let’s be honest, when and where else are you going to see the talents sing together live like this, plus doing a collaboration with an idol group, in a festival setting.
Collaborating with both international and local VTubers seems like a massive undertaking. What challenges did you face while organizing a large-scale festival featuring virtual talents, and how did you overcome them?
Well, the definition of challenge can be quite big. One of them is definitely breaking standards. One thing that a lot of people aren’t used to is what kind of production quality VTubers can live up to. A lot of it is because of what the community is used to, they can’t fathom that VTuber live productions can be quite the experience. We hope to break that mould and elevate the scene even further.
V-Muse will feature a special collaboration between VTuber Mint Fantome and the idol group KLP48. Were there any unique challenges you faced in organising a collaboration between virtual and in-person talents?
We could tell you, but that’d be breaking NDA. We can just say, that everyone was awesome to work with and we’d love for everyone to have the best hecking ever collab, and for those who will witness them during the show to never ever forget what they saw live.
VTubers have grown massively in popularity over the past few years. As a VTuber event organiser, how do you see this trend evolving, especially in Malaysia?
In Malaysia? The community needs to get it right in their mind first. It’s all about the mindset and frame of mind which needs to catch up with the tech, as the rest of the world is evolving so fast that boundaries are being shattered left, right, up and down.
What role do you think events like V-Muse play in shaping the future of the VTuber industry, both locally and globally?
It will push the boundaries of what people expect from a quality VTuber production and set us on a landmark on the map in the world for VTubing content. What most people may or may not realise, is that the world is currently looking at the event and observing the success of it. Whether or not we’ll see more future content and interest from the international scene being focused in the region will greatly depend on how well V-Muse is received by everyone around.
Looking ahead, how do you plan to expand V-Muse’s influence in the VTuber and virtual concert scene?
The sky’s the limit.
We’d like to thank Team Comfy VT for sharing their insights on the upcoming V-Muse VTuber music festival. In-person tickets can be purchased on JioTix, while non-Malaysian viewers can now pick up online tickets from the V-Muse event website.
