Gamescom Asia, one of the largest video game festivals in the region, returns to Singapore for its fourth year in a row! Happening at Suntec Singapore this 17-20 October, the event expects to attract over 40,000 visitors with over 150 exhibitors ranging from AAA and indie titles, to e-sports and even cosplay.
If you’re looking to visit Gamescom Asia this year, don’t miss the expanded entertainment area with a larger indie games area and award-winning stage guests including voice actor Andrew Wincott and J-Pop singer-songwriter SHIHORI.
The entertainment area will be open to public on 19-20 October, but SuperFan ticket holders, business area badge holders, content creators, and media will get early access to the entertainment area on 18 October.
Before you pack your bags and head on down to Suntec, here’s a quick run-down of the biggest highlights at Gamescom Asia this year!
1. Main Stage appearances & performances from Andrew Wincott, SHIHORI & More!
Exciting highlights of the Main Stage program this year feature BAFTA-winning Andrew Wincott, best known as the voice of Raphael in the celebrated video game Baldur’s Gate 3, as well as a performance by J-pop singer-songwriter SHIHORI, most recently featured on Mobile Legends: Bang Bang! ALLSTAR2024.
2. CAPCOM hosts CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 SUPER PREMIER SINGAPORE for Street Fighter 6
Street Fighter 6 players from around the world will gather for CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024 SUPER PREMIER SINGAPORE, to compete for a chance to qualify for CAPCOM CUP 11 in Japan. Champion of CAPCOM CUP 11 will walk away with a grand prize of $1 million USD! Not only that, CAPCOM will be presenting a variety of hands-on demos of upcoming games for attendees to try at their booth.
3. 4Divinity spotlights upcoming 2024 titles
The GCL group returns to Gamescom Asia too, featuring its games publishing unit 4Divinity with its 2024 titles. These include JDM: Japanese Drift Master which lets players explore and drift around Japan’s countryside, open-world construction and survival game Terratech Worlds, action RPG with base building and tower defence mechanics First Dwarf and the immersive sim and horror FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
4. Indie Wavemakers returns bigger & better!
Dozens of indie developers will be featured in the entertainment area’s expanded indie area, in partnership with Indie Wavemakers. Stamp rallies and attractive prizes will be available for the public and the most voted indie games will eventually be in the running for the Indie Wavemakers awards, celebrated on the entertainment area Main Stage on Sunday, 20 October.
5. Cosplay Runway Competition features the best video game cosplays
Slip into your favourite characters and popular worlds and get spotted on the show floor, or join the cosplay competition in collaboration with Neo Tokyo Project. The Gamescom Asia Cosplay Runway Competition takes place on 20 October on the Main Stage, with numerous prizes to be won!
6. Chill out at the Retro Games & Board Games Areas
Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey into the world of board games with Origame at the Gamescom Asia Board Games Area. Featuring a board games library with over 100 titles of curated board games from across Asia, you’ll be able to demo the latest games from Origame and from other independent Asian board games studios.
For retro gaming fans, embrace the golden era of video games at the Retro Games Area. From retro arcade machines to pinball, the retro games area will have you walk down memory lane.
5. Don’t miss Gamescom Asia Primetime, the official opening show!
Featuring the latest game trailers, teasers and indie showcases, Primetime is Gamescom Asia’s opening show, streamed online in English and localised to Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, and Vietnamese. Be sure to follow the official pages on Facebook and YouTube to know when they go live.
