Malaysia Hosts The First ‘The Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition’ In Southeast Asia

Malaysian fans of the popular anime series, Jujutsu Kaisen, are in for a treat as The Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition opens its doors today until October 20th, 2024 at Fahrenheit88, Bukit Bintang.

Visitors of the exhibition will be transported into the heart of Tokyo as depicted in the anime, through the display of detailed replicas of key locations, life-sized statues and cutouts of beloved characters, and exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpses of the production process.

This immersive exhibition features the four main arcs of the series — “Cursed Womb Must Die”, “Small Fry and Reverse Retribution”, “Kyoto Sister School Goodwill Event”, and “The Origin of Blind Obedience” — bringing fans back to where it all began to experience the excitement, anguish, and tension all over again.

One of the most talked-about areas of The Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition is the animation manuscript section, showcasing over 100 character action line drawings and main character settings.

This section also includes interviews with several MAPPA animation team members, such as Korean director Sunghoo Park, who shares his interpretation of the story. This insight offers fans a deeper understanding of the creation and journey of Jujutsu Kaisen.

In response to fans’ feedback, the Malaysian exhibition also includes special photo zones as showcased during the Taiwan and Hong Kong exhibitions. These zones allow fans to get up close and personal with 1:1 life-sized models of the beloved characters such as Gojo Satoru, Itadori Yuji, Sukuna, and more.

At the end of one’s journey, visitors are greeted with a unique retail experience where 168 limited-edition items from Japan as well as the Taiwan and Hong Kong exhibition tours will be available at the exhibition.

On top of that, there will also be plenty of bespoke products such as intricately designed lanyards, premium posters, a limited-edition collectible ticket card, and the highly sought-after Prison Realm stationeries and accessories, only available at Malaysia’s Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition from RM9.90.

Additionally, visitors can rest and recuperate with a delicious lineup of meals and drinks created in collaboration with Souled Out Cafe. The menu is designed to reflect some of the iconic characters of Jujutsu Kaisen such as Itadori Mango Mint, Nobara Sparkling Orange, Jogo Chicken Curry, Toge Yakitori Don, Hanami Tempura Salad, and many more. Prices will start from RM10.

The highlight must-buy is the exclusive custom-made artisanal chocolate creation, the Sukuna Cursed Finger chocolates in collaboration with Chocolate Concierge. Each piece in this collection is crafted with precision and care, capturing the essence of Sukuna’s cursed finger and its powerful presence.

The Animation Jujutsu Kaisen Exhibition Malaysia is brought to life by the innovative experts at Moments Experiential by Colony Group. The event is in collaboration with Trendic and Incubase Studio, and is licensed under TOHO and Medialink. The exhibition is also supported by AniManGaki, ensuring only the best experience for all visitors – fans, enthusiasts and casuals alike.

“We’re thrilled to bring an exhibition of this magnitude for such a popular series to Malaysia for the first time! Our team has worked hard to introduce Jujutsu Kaisen’s intellectual property (IP) to the Malaysian market, allowing dedicated fans to experience it firsthand,” says Eelynn Kong, Chief Strategy Officer at Moments Experiential.

She adds, “We want to create experiences that are unlike any other. After all, we now live in a new era where creativity can be boosted with technology and a little finesse to create something unforgettable.”

“Regardless if we are working with huge IPs like Jujutsu Kaisen or local brands, our team goes above and beyond the conventional to resonate with the new generation. This exhibition is a huge stepping stone for Moments Experiential to continue to grow with other brands and IPs and help them realise their vision and leave a lasting impression.”
