BLUELOCK Season 2 Scheduled For October 5; New Key Visual Revealed

BLUELOCK has shared a new key visual ahead of its Season 2 release on October 5th, 2024. The new season will have a confirmed 14 episodes and “will focus on the match between BLUE LOCK and the U-20 National Japan team, in which the survival of the BLUE LOCK project is at stake.”

Season 2 new cast members include Eiji Mikami as Yo Hiori, Kakeru Hatano as Nijiro Nanase, Satoshi Hino as Oliver Aiku, and Akihisa Wakayama as Shuto Sendo. Unison Square Garden will perform the opening theme song titled “Bojaku no Charisma.”

Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, BLUELOCK follows Japan’s football team as it struggles to regroup after a disasterous defeat at the 2018 World Cup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win.

As a result, the Japan Football Union creates a training regimen named Blue Lock with the goal of creating the world’s greatest striker. Those who fail Blue Lock will never again be permitted to represent Japan. Yoichi Isagi, an unknown high school football player decides to join the program in order to become the best striker in the world.

The manga currently has over 40 million copies in circulation worldwide, and own the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the shounen category in 2021. An anime television series adaptation was produced by Eight Bit in October 2022, with an anime film adaptation based on the Episode Nagi manga premiered in April 2024.
