Two unlikely worlds are set to collide as the American National Basketball Association (NBA) will be teaming up with VTuber agency Nijisanji and its English-speaking branch Nijisanji EN later this month! The collaboration is set to feature 30 unique pieces of merchandise that will be sold worldwide.
How Does It Work?
30 VTubers from Nijisanji and Nijisanji EN will each be assigned to a different NBA team, with the pairing of each VTuber and their assigned team set to be announced at a later date.
The collaboration will take place across three different phases, with each phase revealing exclusive illustrations of 10 participating VTubers and their corresponding teams. Exclusive merchandise based on these illustrations will also be sold in Japan and other countries worldwide.
When Is It Happening?
The first phase of the project will be announced on a YouTube stream scheduled for the 29th of May, at 9PM JST (8PM MYT). The stream will be hosted by Inui Toko and Kuzuha from Nijisanji, and Sonny Brisko, Petra Gurin and Shu Yamino from Nijisanji EN.
