‘HAIKYU!! The Movie: Battle At The Garbage Dump’ Premieres In Malaysia This May 16th

HAIKYU!! The Movie: Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump premieres in GSC this May 16th. The movie features one of the series’ most popular storylines, the Spring Nationals match between Karasuno High School and Nekoma High School.

It is also the first film in the two-part Haikyu!! final sequel film project, which will serve as the finale of the anime series. The anime adaptation originally premiered in April 2014 and has since released four seasons. The second half of the fourth season premiered in October 2020, with the movie being the first animated release from Haikyuu!! in four years.

Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump premiered in Japan on February 16th and topped the Japanese weekend movie charts. It sold a total of 1.52 million tickets and earned an estimated 2.23 billion yen or USD14.86 million in its first three days of screening.

GSC announced the Malaysia premiere on their Facebook page, teasing a special fan screening with details to be announced soon. For fans who want to dress for the occasion, Uniqlo Malaysia recently launched the Haikyu!! UT collection with designs inspired by the movie.
