Rusty’s Retirement Is An Idle-Farming Game That Sits On Your Screen

After going viral on Twitter, Rusty’s Retirement finally released its demo on Steam earlier this year. The game is an idle-farming simulator designed to sit at the bottom of your screen, allowing you to work on other tasks while caring for your farm.

All you have to do is plant crops and watch Rusty get to work as he waters, nurtures, and harvests. Unlock new crops as you progress, then use those crops to produce clean and energy-efficient biofuel, a vital robot power source.

Biofuel can be sold to other machine inhabitants, then reinvest that money into expanding you farm. You can even deploy a team of cute little robots to assist Rusty, and upgrade them to increase efficiency on your farm.

Besides being perfectly designed for the work-from-home era, the game can be easily tailored to your working style. If you’re easily distracted, zoom in or out for a less distracting view, or you can even turn on Focus Mode which slows down crop production.

The game is developed by Mister Morris Games, a solo developer who previously created Haiku, the Robot, a pixel art metroidvania adventure-exploration game set in a vast interconnected world full of corrupt robots and machinery.

Rusty’s Retirement launches in Q2 2024. Wishlist or try the demo on Steam, and top up your Steam Wallet on Codashop.
