Is Acheron Worth Pulling? — The Ultimate Acheron Build Guide

Arriving on March 27th with the Version 2.1 update, Acheron is the newest character in Honkai: Star Rail and the third version of Raiden Mei in the HoYoverse universe; followed by Raiden Mei in Honkai Impact 3rd and Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact.

Acheron is a Nihility Lightning character, making her the second Nihility Lightning character in Honkai: Star Rail. In this article, we’ll be explaining her entire character kit and recommended builds — and whether she’s worth pulling!

Skill Set

Basic Attack: Trilateral Wiltcross

Gains 1 point of Slashed Dream, then inflicts 1 stack of Crimson Knot on a single target enemy and deals Lightning DMG equal to 50% of Acheron’s ATK to them.

Skill: Octoboly Flash

Gains 2 points of Slashed Dream. Inflicts 2 stacks of Crimson Knot on a single target enemy and deals Lightning DMG equal to 80% of Acheron’s ATK to them, as well as Lightning DMG equal to 30% of Acheron’s ATK to adjacent targets.

Ultimate: Slashed Dream Cries in Red

Triggers Rainblade, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 14.4% of Acheron’s ATK to a single target enemy and removing up to 3 stacks of Crimson Knot from the target enemy. When Crimson Knot is removed, immediately deal 1 instance of Lightning DMG equal to 9.0% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies.

Each stack of Crimson Knot removed will increase the DMG multiplier by an additional 9.0%. Rainblade can be activated 3 times, which then immediately activates Stygian Resurge, dealing Lightning DMG equal to 39% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies and removing all Crimson Knots. During her Ultimate, Crimson Knot cannot be inflicted on enemies.

Technique: Quadrivalent Ascendance

Immediately attacks the enemy. After entering battle, Acheron gains 2 point(s) of Slashed Dream and deals Lightning DMG equal to 80% of Acheron’s ATK to all enemies, as well as inflicting 2 stack(s) of Crimson Knot on a single random enemy. If the enemy has Red Karma, they will be immediately defeated and will not enter combat. The Technique Point is not spent if the attack does not hit an enemy.

Talent: Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness

When Slashed Dream reaches 9 points, the Ultimate can be unleashed. The Ultimate ignores Weakness Types and depletes enemies’ Toughness, as well as reducing all enemies’ All-Type RES by 10% until the end of the Ultimate.

When any character uses their ability to inflict debuffs on an enemy target, Acheron gains 1 point of Slashed Dream and inflicts Crimson Knot on the enemy target. This effect can be triggered up to 1 time per action. If the ability inflicts a debuff on multiple enemies, Crimson Knot will be inflicted on the enemy with the most Crimson Knot stacks.

When Acheron is on the battlefield, Crimson Knot on the defeated enemy target will be retargeted to the enemy target with the most Crimson Knot stacks.

Passives

Red Ogre

When battle starts, immediately gain 5 point(s) of Slashed Dream and apply 5 stack(s) of Crimson Knot to a random enemy. When Slashed Dream reaches its upper limit, for every point of Slashed Dream that exceeds the limit, gain 1 stack of Quadrivalent Ascendance. Increases the maximum stackable count for Quadrivalent Ascendance to 3.

The Abyss

When there are 1 or 2 Nihility characters other than Acheron in the team, the DMG dealt by Acheron’s Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate increases to 115% or 160% of the original DMG respectively.

Thunder Core

When the Rainblade from Acheron’s Ultimate hits enemy targets with Crimson Knot, her DMG increases by 30%, stacking up to 3 time(s) and lasting for 3 turn(s). And when Stygian Resurge triggers, additionally deals DMG for 6 times. Each time deals Lightning DMG equal to 25% of Acheron’s ATK to a single random enemy and is viewed as part of the Ultimate DMG.

Eidolons

Silence Sky Spake Sooth (E1)

CRIT Rate increases by 18% when dealing DMG to debuffed enemies.

Mute Thunder in Still Tempest (E2)

The number of characters on the Path of Nihility required for the highest value of the Trace, The Abyss, is reduced by 1. At the beginning of Acheron’s turn, gain 1 point of Slashed Dream. Additionally, inflict 1 stack of Crimson Knot on an enemy with the most Crimson Knot.

Frost Bites in Death (E3)

Increases the level of Acheron’s Ultimate by two with a maximum upgrade level of 15, and increases the level of her Basic Attack by one, with a maximum upgrade level of 10.

Shrined Fire for Mirrored Soul (E4)

When using the Ultimate, inflicts Ultimate DMG Vulnerability to all enemies, increasing the Ultimate DMG taken by 12%, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Strewn Souls on Erased Earths (E5)

Increases the level of Acheron’s Skill and Talent by two, with a maximum upgrade Level of 15.

Apocalypse, the Emancipator (E6)

Increases the All-Type RES PEN for the Ultimate DMG dealt by Acheron by 20%. The DMG dealt by Basic ATK and Skill will also be considered as Ultimate DMG and can reduce enemy toughness regardless of Weakness Types. When Weakness is broken, triggers the Lightning Weakness Break effect.

Best Team Builds

The best characters to pair with Acheron are Pela, Silver Wolf, and Aventurine. The armor reduction and permanent debuffs from Silver Wolf and Pela makes Acheron’s Ultimate do an insane amount of damage, on top of recharging her Ultimate very quickly.

The other new character Aventurine is incredibly tanky, and his talent also provides a debuff, helping charge Acheron’s Ultimate faster.

Best Relics

The best relics to equip on Acheron are the Pioneer Heatproof Shell, Izumo, and Gods of Innumerable Misery. These relics suit Acheron as she deals a lot of debuffs, and also requires a lot of Nihility characters to make use of her kit fully.

Relics  Main / Sub-Stat
HeadHP / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
HandsAttack / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
BodyCrit Damage = Crit Rate / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
FeetSpeed / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack %
Planar SphereLightning Damage Boost / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed
Link RopeAttack % / Crit Damage = Crit Rate > Attack % > Speed

The Verdict: Should You Pull Acheron?

If you just started playing Honkai: Star Rail, I recommend not pulling for Acheron as she requires significant investment. Instead, I suggest pulling for Jing Liu who is more beginner friendly.

If you are a veteran F2P player, I also recommend not pulling for her unless you have enough Stellar Jade to pull for both her and her Lightcone. The Lightcone will add immense value to Acheron’s kit, increasing the wearer’s Effect Hit Rate by 24% and boosting her Ultimate charging rate.

If you are an F2P+ or Dolphin player, I recommend aiming for E1S1 instead of E2S1. Since Acheron highly depends on debuffs to charge her Ultimate, replacing a Nihility debuffer with a Harmony character may not be the most ideal situation, as it slows down the rate of her Ultimate being charged.

But if you’re a Whale, just dive in and splurge all your cash. Acheron’s E6S5 is ridiculously overpowered. With the right team and stats, brace yourself for damage numbers reaching into the millions. And hey, who needs a savings account when you can have a bank-breaking but damage-making team, am I right?
