With new webcomics popping up everyday, it can be hard to choose which one to read next! Don’t worry, we’ve all been there. Whether you’re into romance or drama, here are some of our favourite titles for you to check out during your next webcomic session.
(Note: All of these webcomics are available on WEBTOON!)
1. Kidults
Genres: Slice of Life, Romance
For the school kids heading into adult life, or the adults who don’t quite feel like adults yet, this one’s for you. Kidults follows five childhood best friends who are on the cusp of adulthood. Together they face different challenges and try to figure out what they want for their futures, and amidst it all, unfamiliar feelings begin to blossom where there was once only friendship…
2. Your Throne
Genres: Drama, Fantasy
For those who love intense political drama, Your Throne consistently delivers in spectacular fashion. Set in Vasilios Empire, a kingdom ruled by the Imperial Family and the Temple, tensions are beginning to brew. Lady Medea Solon has lost her place next to Crown Prince Eros, but resolves to do whatever it will take to win back what’s rightfully hers. Will she reclaim her throne?
3. My Giant Nerd Boyfriend
Genres: Slice of Life, Comedy
Did you know My Giant Nerd Boyfriend is now My Giant Nerd Husband?! If you’re new to this adorable slice of life series, this webcomic follows Malaysian artist Fishball as she navigates the Malaysian life with her 6’5″ geeky boyfriend.
4. Batman: Wayne Family Adventures
Genres: Superhero, Comedy
One of the many DC webcomics now on WEBTOON, this Eisner Award-nominated webcomic definitely stands out from the rest. The series follows new vigilante Duke Thomas moving into Wayne Manor and joining Batman’s mixed bag of adopted, fostered, and biological superhero children. Being a father can’t be harder than being Batman, right?
5. Lady Liar
Genres: Romance
From the artist behind Miss Abbott and the Doctor, this webcomic is bound to get your heart thumping. It follows Adara, a lower class girl whose only love is money, who comes up with the perfect plan to get her dream job: she’ll pretend to be a refined lady to be hired as a companion for a wealthy family. The job seems easy and everybody believes she’s the lady she claims to be… except for one person.
6. Everything is Fine
Genres: Horror
Sam and Maggie are a normal couple, in a normal house, in a normal neighborhood. There is nothing strange about their heads, their neighbors or their sweet little dog. Everything is Fine… except when it’s not. This eerie horror story is perfect for anyone looking for something thrilling and surreal that will keep them up all night.
7. Marionetta
Genres: Fantasy
From one of my favourite artists of all time, Míriam Bonastre Tur manages to raise the bar even further with her second series after Hooky. Marionetta follows Julia Lazarrett, a young girl happy with her predictable life, until her best friend Kamille convinces her to visit a travelling circus and they both get more than for which they bargained. Thrust into a world full of secrets, magic, and death, Julia finds herself presented with the most horrific of deals in order to survive.
8. Heartstopper
Genres: Romance
You may have watched Heartstopper on Netflix, but have you read the original webcomic on WEBTOON? Its story follows Charlie, a high-strung overthinker, and Nick, a cheerful soft-hearted rugby player, who meet at a British all-boys grammar school. Friendship blooms quickly, but could there be something more…?
