Genshin Impact has brought us many exciting new updates consistently for the past year, and of course, MiHoYo is back with a new version just less than a week away! Just based on the trailer, the 2.3 update – Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, seems to be a patch filled with mysteries, lore, and more adventure!
With that said, there are some things to do before you head out for a new experience! Here are a list of important things that you might want to consider doing beforehand.
#1 Condense Your Resin
During the Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream, it was mentioned that two new artifact sets and a new overworld boss are coming to the game! The artifacts are the Husk of Opulent Dreams and the Ocean-Hued Clam. The first set caters to defense based characters like Albedo, and the soon-to-be-released Arataki Itto and Gorou, while the latter seems to be for healers who would like to do some damage, possibly Sangonomiya Kokomi is the best candidate.
The new boss, the Golden Wolflord is also coming to the update as well! Since it’s an overworld boss, it’s very at least one of the new characters introduced will have to use the materials it drops.
So, if you’re planning to get Albedo, Itto, Gorou, or get better gear for Kokomi and other potential characters that can use the new artifacts and boss materials, it’s best to start saving some resin now!
#2 Save Your Transient Resin
Adding on to the first point, players tend to forget the existence of the teapot system with all the new content that is pushed out by Genshin Impact creators. However, this resin is very valuable as it is one of the only source of resin refills if you are a free-to-play or low spender! With the new artifact domain and boss coming next week, players should save their transient resin for the update as it has a two-week lifespan. Hence, players can immediately go to farm the new content as soon as the update drops on 24 November 2021!
#3 Complete The Leyline Overflow Event
If you did not know already, there is a Ley Line Overflow event happening in-game now! During this period between 15 November to 22 November 2021, 3.59am (GMT+08:00), players get to have 2x bonus rewards when they claim from either the Blossom of Wealth (yellow) or Blossom of Revelation (blue). However, the bonus has a limit of 3 per day for both ley lines. So depending on what you need more, you can either use all the bonuses for Mora or Exp books, or you can do a mixture of both!
#4 Preparing For Characters
As you may already know, Genshin Impact has revealed a new mechanic for the first phase of its gacha system, whereby 2 rerun characters’ banner will be in the game simultaneously. The characters are Albedo and Eula, both from the Knights of Favonius in Mondstat. As they are reruns, the materials needed to level them up are already public-known information. So, if you’re planning to get any of the two knights, perhaps consider to start farming for their materials?
As for the two new characters, Arataki Itto and Gorou, the materials they need are still unknown, except for the fact that they both need crystals from the Prithiva Topaz series and one of the talent books from Inazuma region.
Note that if you’re worried, the pity of both banners will be shared, so don’t worry if you want to go for both or your plan to get the four stars and save the pity for a future character! Good luck in getting the 5-star character you want!
#5 Save Your Gems
This is the most obvious thing to do! With the upcoming characters, old and new, it’s no doubt that players are going to spend on the banners. Of course, with featured characters comes their signature weapon in the weapon banner! It’s unknown what weapons are coming along with Albedo and Eula, but we know that a new weapon is coming the same time as Itto and Gorou! The new weapon, Redhorn Stonethresher is speculated to cater to Itto. Although, we will have to wait till later before they announce the stats officially.
Whether you’re planning to get the upcoming characters or weapons, it’s probably a good idea to hold back on summoning now and save those gems before it’s too late!
Bonus
genshin impact is also introducing two new hangout events, featuring Gorou and Beidou respectively! Remember to claim the story keys that you can get from completing commissions every 2 days if you don’t have them yet.
