Get ready to be spooked! The Overwatch Halloween Terror event is coming back next Tuesday, October 9th with a new collection of skins, voice lines, and hopefully, a little bit more than that. A small teaser was released alongside the big announcement, revealing a location that players will quickly recognise as Widowmaker’s home, Chateau Guillard.
There’s a rumor among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors

Fans are hoping that this teaser indicates a new update to the two-year-old PvE mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge. This comes hot off the heels of Overwatch’s previous event, Summer Games 2018, which received heavy backlash from players for being “repetitive” and “boring”. Despite Halloween Terror being one of the more beloved in-game events, it doesn’t change the fact that it is also approaching it’s third year of the same ol’, same ol’.
However, change seems far yet to come. Lead game designer, Jeff Kaplan, announced in the Overwatch September Developer Update that there will be no drastic changes to existing game modes in the near future. Instead, the development team will be focusing on improving the game’s cosmetic roster. At the very least, players will be able to look forward to a great line-up of new skins for this upcoming event.
For those who enjoy grinding for skins especially, Reddit user chomz147 highlights a leak which leaves clues as to what the legendary and epic skins will be this time round. From what looks like a Friday the 13th inspired skin for Soldier: 76, to a Frankenstein’s Bride skin for Sombra, youtubers YourOverwatch take a deep dive into speculation.
Overwatch is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.
