In the most exciting corporate social responsibility initiative this week, Overwatch released a special charity skin yesterday to help raise funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). And who better to be the spokesperson for the cause than the guardian angel of Overwatch herself, Dr. Angela Ziegler a.k.a. Mercy!
The skin is priced at USD14.99 and will be available for purchase from 8/5 until 21/5. All sales made from the skin will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the world’s most promising research to eradicate the disease once and for all. Besides the special skin, they also have other activities lined up for the entire two weeks. Overwatch has rallied their international streaming community to conduct charity livestreams every single day of the campaign. All the donations, tips and bits made during their stream will be donated to BCRF by the creators themselves!
Not only that, tuning into the streams will also unlock special in-game rewards. All you have to do is link your Twitch account to your Blizzard account, then watch up to 6 cumulative hours of charity streams to unlock exclusive player icons, and sprays designed by onemegawatt.
