Shaft’s Latest Anime Romance, “Fireworks”, Hits Malaysian Shores Tomorrow

Be prepared for some serious feels, because “Fireworks, Should We See It from the Side or the Bottom?” – or as most of us know it as, “The Fireworks Movie” –  is coming to TGV Cinemas this 30 November 2017! Produced by Shaft, this romantic drama follows the tale of Norimichi, Yusuke, and their group of friends as their summer gets turned upside down by the actions of one girl, their school’s idol and resident beauty, Nazuna.

Although the movie is based on a live-action drama of the same name by Shunji Iwai, its trailer already hints of Shaft’s quirky style of storytelling and fondness for mysterious female leads. (It even has the Shaft head tilt, c’mon!) Its initial release in Japan earlier this year was met with mixed to positive reviews, many touting it as far better than the original drama and praising Shaft for putting their own spin onto the story.

The movie is Shaft’s second highest grossing movie, and the seventh highest grossing anime movie this year. It features the voice work of Suzu Hirose, Masaki Suda and Mamoru Miyano, featuring music by Satoru Kosaki.
