SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure, a co-op cooking adventure game inspired by Southeast Asia, has officially launched “The Seasoning Update”, a major v1.1 update that consists of much-requested features by players, balancing, and quality of life (QoL) updates.
SEDAP!’s PC release in May 2025 brought an onslaught of negative feedback on Steam, particularly regarding the game’s unforgiving difficulty. The Seasoning Update is kopiforge’s heartfelt response to that, with the team having carefully considered player feedback and thinking of ways to improve the game.
“We worked really hard on SEDAP!, so the negative reviews were very disheartening. We love SEDAP! and definitely want to see it in a better state. With that in mind, we carefully decided on what to work on for this update, and ramped up QA efforts within our small team.” shared game producer Jay.
“As the word “seasoning” implies, this is us adding some extra flavours to the game. We’re really excited for new and existing players to try this improved version of SEDAP! If you’re enjoying the improvements, a positive review on Steam would mean a lot to us. And if you left a negative review before but are now enjoying version 1.1, we’d love to hear your updated feedback. A positive review would truly make our day.”
Update Highlights
- The Bestiary: Discover Khaya Island’s inhabitants with the Bestiary, a new chapter of the Makanomicon featuring brand new artwork, names, and detailed descriptions of the Monsters you’ll encounter.
- In-Game Map: Many negative reviews cited late-game difficulty due to large, hard-to-navigate maps. The new in-game map solves this with a quick toggle showing an aerial view of the level, denoting ingredient spawns and a dynamic respawn timer.
- Herb Mode/Spice Mode: For players who prefer a more casual experience, Herb Mode is a new difficulty setting in the game, where damage taken, monster HP, dish freshness and order timing depletions are greatly reduced. However, players will only be able to earn Pink Stars in the game’s original Spice Mode (standard difficulty). Players can toggle between the two modes at the start of the game, and in the game’s settings.
- Game Balancing: The game now features more Teletotems, tweaked late-game levels, and reduced dish freshness depletion rate to make gameplay more comfortable, especially in single-player mode. Weight limit for equipping Charms has also been increased.
- Four New Charms: Refresh your adventure with four brand new charms — Jade Earrings, Five Stones, Yadom, and Kerosang! Together with an increased charm weight limit (5 → 7), you can equip these new Charms to help with slowing food decay or starting a level with a combo streak.
- Steam Trading Cards: With the Seasoning Update, kopiforge have also added new SEDAP! Steam community items! Collect trading cards, badges, profile backgrounds, and emoticons when you play SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure on Steam.
SEDAP! A Culinary Adventure’s Seasoning Update is now live on PC via Steam. For console versions, the update will go live later in December 2025, with online multiplayer functionality expected to arrive for consoles in Q1 2026.
