The Games For Change Student Game Jam Kuala Lumpur will make its debut at Indie Jam 2026 in partnership with Management and Science University, Games for Change Hong Kong, Tencent Institute of Games, Playing For The Planet, and Digital Blacksmith School.
Open to university students and fresh graduates, this 1-week online game jam tackles real-world environmental challenges through the medium of video games. The game jam features a unique emphasis on pitching and presentation, requiring participants to showcase their game at Indie Jam 2026 with scoring being divided into 2 distinct parts.
- The Public Voting Segment, which makes up for 30% of total score
- The Judges Choice Segment, where teams present their games to a panel of industry judges which then accounts for 70% of the total score
The Top 3 highest scoring teams will be crowned at the closing ceremony of Indie Jam 2026 on April 5th and receive the prizes listed below:

2nd Place
- Scholarship from Yayasan MSU

Additionally, as part of our collaborations this year, all participating teams will also have the opportunity to submit their games to the G4C Student Challenge 2026 and Tencent’s GWB (Games Without Borders) Awards 2026, with even more prizes in store!
The Games For Change Student Game Jam Kuala Lumpur begins on March 28th online, with the public voting and judges presentations happening during Indie Jam 2026 at Management and Science University on April 4th – 5th.
