No, April Fool’s has not come early. Japanese personal care and cosmetics company KAO Corporation has launched a web-based visual novel titled “Cleaning Love”, which stars four idols based on four of KAO’s popular cleaning products. The game can be played for free on mobile or PC, available through KAO’s website.
The game places you in the role of a producer at an idol management agency, who learns tips and tricks on how to clean, while also managing Shining 4, an idol group comprised of four anthropomorphic cleaning products: the KAO Quickle Wiper 3D Absorbent Wet Sheet, KAO Magiclean Bath Air Jet, KAO Kyukutto No-Scrub Foam Pack, and KAO Magiclean Toilet Foam Spray.
To cap it all off, the game also features a star-studded lineup of voice actors: Kento Ito (Dan Heng from Honkai: Star Rail) as the KAO Quickle Wiper 3D Absorbent Wet Sheet, Reo Tsuchida (Tsukasa Suou from Ensemble Stars) as the KAO Magiclean Bath Air Jet, Yoshiki Nakajima (Tetora Nagumo from Ensemble Stars) as the KAO Kyukutto No-Scrub Foam Pack, and Yuki Sakakibara (Jyushi Aimono from Hypnosis Mic) as the KAO Magiclean Toilet Foam Spray.
Cleaning Love can be played for free via KAO’s official website, available only from now until April 30. Users based in Japan can also take part in a special giveaway upon completing the game, which will give them a chance to win various KAO cleaning products.
