The Malaysian-made cinematic roguelike deckbuilder Operatives Revolve has launched its first-ever demo on Steam, allowing players to go through two of the game’s three stages. The demo includes 2 fully playable characters, 70+ cards, 35+ artifacts, and 35+ toolkits, including unique card-upgrade modules, for players to try out.
Operatives Revolve casts players in the role of Operatives, secret agents chosen to enforce the will of the Machine Doctrine. Wield Machine cards to strike and block in physical combat, hunt down those who resist your directive, and uncover the hidden truths behind this machinated world.
The game offers a unique twist on the deckbuilder genre by re-imagining cards as tactile 3D objects rather than flat images, which can be used to strike, pierce or bomb your enemies apart. Players can install various components and trigger cascading chain reactions to turn the tide.
The game was a Top 40 finalist at the 2025 SEA Game Awards, earning nominations for Best Technology, Best Visual Art, and Best Score & Music Award; and was featured in the 2025 Southeast Asian Games Showcase. Developers The Only Studio have also been quick to reflect player feedback to the demo, with a recent update dropping on February 14.
