The historical manga series Historie is officially getting an anime adaptation, with production handled by LIDEN FILMS. The series was originally created by Hitoshi Iwaaki, best known as the creator of the horror series Parasyte.
Historie retells the story of Eumenes, a historical figure who would go on to become the official secretary to Alexander the Great. After his adoptive father is murdered, Eumenes is accused of causing his death, which results in him becoming enslaved. From there, he will need to use his wits and skill to survive, and eventually become a celebrated general.
The manga series was first published in Kodansha’s Afternoon magazine, where it would go on to have over 4.7 million copies in circulation. Creator Iwaaki is said to have developed the story in his mind even before making his professional debut as a manga artist.
An official release date and voice cast for the anime have yet to be revealed. More updates will be made via its official website https://www.historie.info/.
