LaLaport BBCC is set to welcome Southeast Asia’s first permanent Godzilla Store next year, officially opening on January 9. The Malaysian store is the second-ever Godzilla Store to open outside of Japan, following the success of Godzilla Store Taipei, which opened on September 26.
The store will feature themed walls, neon decorations, photo spots, and a wide range of official Godzilla merchandise. The centrepiece of it all is a brand-new, two-metre-tall Godzilla statue created exclusively for the Malaysian store, which was first featured in the franchise’s 70th anniversary commemorative video ’70 Years of Godzilla: A New Roar in Southeast Asia’.

The store is also designed to function as a community hub where fans and their families can gather, with themed displays and in-store events planned. To celebrate the store’s opening, visitors can browse a wide range of officially licensed products, collector’s items, apparel, and lifestyle goods, as well as exclusive Godzilla Store Malaysia merchandise that will be released gradually after the opening.
According to Toho, the opening of Godzilla Store Malaysia is part of the company’s broader strategy to expand the Godzilla brand across Asia. In collaboration with Toho Entertainment Asia Pte. Ltd. (TEA), headquartered in Singapore, this initiative aims to bring the authentic Godzilla experience to fans throughout Southeast Asia, while further enhancing the value of the Godzilla brand.
