SEGA Japan will launch their first-ever male VTuber group this December 13, a four-member unit named “Haihapi” (‘yes, happy’). The group will not only stream videogames on YouTube, but also release video and music content, with their first song already available on Haihapi’s official YouTube channel.
Haihapi consists of four members: Kurechika, Shizuku, Momoru and Mero. Each member derives their powers from a different magical creature, with Kurechika being based on a phoenix, Shizuku on a kirin, Momoru on a unicorn, and Mero on the mythical wolf Fenrir.
SEGA has had a long history of involving VTubers in their promotional activities. The company previously endorsed Hololive VTuber Inugami Korone as a Sonic the Hedgehog brand ambassador; created VTuber models of Tails, Sonic, Knuckles and Amy for their “TailsTube” YouTube series ; and launched their own original VTubers Popona and Usaki Rin in 2018 and 2023, respectively.
More information on Haihapi can be found on their official website and YouTube channel.
