Adidas Japan has announced a collaboration with the Japanese singer-songwriter Ado to produce a “Uniform Song” inspired by the concept behind the Japan National Football Team’s 2026 home kit.
According to Adidas Japan, the 2026 home kit centers on the theme of “striving toward a horizon that has never been seen before”, reflecting the players’ and fans’ desire to push the Japanese National Team toward success at the FIFA World Cup 2026. To amplify that message and help build nationwide excitement, the company decided to develop an official theme song specifically for the uniform.
Ado was selected as the team’s creative partner for her powerful, expressive range, and her ability to craft stories through diverse vocal styles. She is set to participate in a series of initiatives leading up to the theme song’s release, starting with a key visual created by her image director ORIHARA.
Since her debut in 2020, Ado has rapidly become one of Japan’s biggest artists, with hit songs under her belt like “Useewa”, “Odo” and “Show”. Earlier this year, she completed a world tour that drew over 500,000 attendees across 33 cities, which was reportedly one of the largest tours to ever be conducted by a Japanese artist.
