Animate will open its first permanent outlet in Malaysia this October 10, located on the L2 floor of LaLaport BBCC. The outlet follows the massive success of the mall’s Animate pop-up store, which originally opened in December of 2024.
Visitors will be able to enjoy various launch promotions, including a limited-edition card for every RM45 spent on Alien Stage merchandise; a postcard for every RM40 spent on The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity items; or a free sticker by following the official Animate KL X or Facebook account.
Making things even more exciting, the space where the pop-up store was previously located is set to be renovated into a themed merchandise store known as the Animate “Only Shop”. This store will feature a rotating series of limited-edition merchandise, launching with an Evangelion collaboration running from October 10 to October 26.
A new Animate cafe is also scheduled to open at LG1 of LaLaport BBCC, operating as a takeaway-only beverage counter serving anime-inspired drinks. The cafe will launch with a Detective Conan collaboration, serving exclusive themed drinks and merchandise from October 8 to November 16.
The Animate permanent store comes as a part of LaLaport BBCC’s new pop-culture zone, known as ACG BASE, which will feature over 10 different stores dedicated to anime and fandom culture. More details are available on our dedicated write-up here.
