Aniplex announced during its Aniplex Online Fest event that the Fate/strange Fake anime premiere is being delayed to January 3rd, 2026. The anime was originally slated to premiere this year, with the English-subbed version of the anime’s first episode debuting at the Fate 20th Anniversary Showcase event on November 2024.
The anime will adapt Ryogo Narita’s Fate/strange Fake spinoff story, which centers around a Grail War faultily copied from the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki. After the end of the third Grail War, a magi organization from the United States took data from Fuyuki’s Grail War and planned their own ritual.
After seventy years, they used the city Snowfield as the Sacred Land for their own Grail War. They were unable to successfully copy every aspect of the ritual, which led to it acting only as an imitation that has lost the Saber class and allowed for the summoning of strange Servants due to the definition of a “hero” being blurred.
Fate/strange Fake -Whispers of Dawn- directors Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume will be directing the series under A-1 Pictures, Daisuke Daito will be writing the script, Yukei Yamada will serve as chief animation director and character designer, while Hiroyuki Sawano will be composing the music. The company also revealed that the theme song, Provant., will be performed by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Jean-Ken Johnny & TAKUMA.
