‘Assassination Classroom’ Gets New Anime Film, Releasing In 2026

Assassination Classroom will be getting a new film titled Assassination Classroom the Movie: Everybody’s Time (Gekijōban Anatsu Kyōshitsu Minna no Jikan), which celebrates the anime adaptation’s 10th anniversary. The news was first revealed in the 41st issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.

The new film, set to release on March 20, 2026, will consist of storylines that were cut from the anime series due to time constraints. The film will be directed by Masaki Kitamura, with animation from studio Lerche, a script from Makoto Uezu, and character designs from Aya Higami. According to manga author Yusei Matsui, Everybody’s Time will not only serve as a 10th anniversary project, but also a continuation of the original series.

The original Assassination Classroom manga was serialised in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2012 to 2016. It was adapted into an anime series that ran from 2015 to 2016, and inspired an anime film in November 2016, as well as two live-action films that aired in March 2015 and March 2016.
