This Hand-Drawn Pixel RPG Was Created By Just One Malaysian Dev

Malaysian solo developer Mas is set to release their debut project, Artis Impact, this August 7. Launching on PC via Steam, the game is a retro-inspired, turn-based adventure that took Mas four years to create, with every map and sprite being drawn from scratch using RPG Maker MV.

You play as Akane, a human survivor navigating a post-apocalyptic world shared with AIs and oddball survivors. With her snarky sidekick Bot, Akane explores cities, battles bizarre enemies, and uncovers mysterious secrets, all with a wink, a smile, and the occasional potato croquette.

Artis Impact promises simple but satisfying combat, accessible to new players and RPG veterans alike. In between fights, you’ll also uncover the world’s lost histories and go on heartwarming side quests, while also taking the time to relax with home decoration, part-time jobs, and even cooking yourself a meal.

A demo for Artis Impact is now available on Steam. Players can also wishlist the game to be notified upon its release on August 7.
