‘Short Short Fictions’ Is A Short Story Anthology That You Can Play

Japanese publisher room6 and developers Mitsuyu Suisan have announced Short Short Fictions, an anthology that connects three short games into a single experience. Players can expect “painful, toilful yet beautiful experiences”, which can be completed in under 30 minutes.

Short Short Fictions will include three stories themed around feelings of “not being able to do something”:

  • DON’T SAY YES:  In the year 22XX, a spaceship crashes on the moon, and a mysterious figure proposes a deal to a mortally wounded pilot. This is a five-minute text adventure where you cannot say yes, which has gained much acclaim from the itch.io community.
  • “TO: NORTH”: A traditional top-down adventure where you play as an AI that cannot go south, which went viral for its seamless fusion of story and gameplay. This will also mark the first time TO: NORTH will be available in languages other than Japanese.
  • IMMEMORIAL: A secret new short game created for this collection. Look for it within LOST AND FOUND.
  • LOST AND FOUND: A point-and-click adventure game that players can enjoy while going from one game to the next. The story follows Newy, a self-proclaimed magical game console that has the power to grant any wish; and Sasaki, who is trapped on a mysterious beach. They encounter a strange fighter ship who claims to be able to help Sasaki, but only if his own dream is fulfilled.

Short Short Fictions is slated for a 2026 release. For more information, follow Mitsuyu Suisan and room6 on their social platforms.
