Just days after announcing its collaboration with the Gansu Province Department of Culture and Tourism, Tears of Themis once again surprised fans with another themed collab – this time with the popular British children’s TV series Teletubbies.
The Tears of Themis Teletubbies collaboration will run from February 18 to February 28, where fans will be able to redeem an exclusive Namecard, as well as purchase in-game Teletubbies-themed outfits and furniture. The collab currently appears to be exclusive to the Chinese version of the game, with no news on whether it will come to international versions in the future.

Fans in China can also visit Tears of Themis Teletubbies pop-up stores in Shanghai and Nanjing, where they will have the opportunity to purchase exclusive themed merchandise inspired by the collaboration. Similar pop-up stores for Chongqing and Guangzhou are also in the works.

Teletubbies might seem like an extremely random choice for a game collaboration, but it’s one that makes sense with the franchise’s recent history. While the original Teletubbies series that most of us are familiar with ended in 2001, the franchise has continued to be rebooted and refreshed a number of times, with the latest iteration by its current rights holders Wildbrain launching on Netflix and YouTube in 2022.
Wildbrain has made efforts to keep the Teletubbies brand relevant amongst not only children but also nostalgic millenials and Gen Z’s. Most notably, in 2023, Teletubbies made an appearance at RuPaul’s DragCon in the United Kingdom and Los Angeles, where they sold a special line of merchandise aimed at older fans. The Tears of Themis collab is likely a similar effort to promote the brand amongst Chinese adults, especially as Teletubbies was recently acquired by Chinese streaming sites like iQIYI, Youku and Bilibili.
So, who knows – we might just see a lot more Teletubbies game collabs in the future!
