In celebration of Malaysia’s National Day on August 31st, Weyrdworks is launching a homegrown content update for their latest title, Weyrdlets.
Released on July 23rd, Weyrdlets is a free-to-play virtual desktop pet game described by some as Animal Crossing meets Nintendogs. The game seamlessly blends pet-caretaking relaxation with productivity tools, presenting a wholesome approach to encouraging focus and enhancing task efficiency.
The National Day update features new items that really capture the spirit of Malaysia. You can now deck out your pets with a hibiscus flower or a Tanjak and add some local flavor to your pets’ living space with an animated Jalur Gemilang, old-school Tiffin Tins, red plastic stools (you know the one!), and a full rattan furniture set.
The Weyrdlets team has also created new wallpaper and flooring inspired by Malaysian culture to complete the look, which they hope will resonate with both local players and international players who are interested in Malaysian culture.
Players will be able to redeem a free bundle of Malaysian-inspired freebies by entering the code “MERDEKA” under the Settings menu. Players can also buy these Malaysian-inspired accessories and decorations from Oskars, the in-game merchant.
