Mary and the Witch’s Flower (Mary to Majo no Hana), based on Mary Stewart’s ‘The Little Broomstick’, is an upcoming Japanese anime fantasy film produced by Studio Ponoc and directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi. Hiromasa Yonebayashi was an ex-Studio Ghibli member and was the figure behind several Ghibli movies, for example, ‘The Secret World of Arriety’ and ‘When Marnie Was There’. Its premier date is set to be on this summer, the 8th of July 2017 in Japan. The film centers around a young girl named Mary who discovers that she has a mysterious power to become a witch which only lasts for one night.
Promising to be a magical tale following Mary’s adventures, Studio Ponoc has been hyping the crowd with the release of the anticipated film’s trailers which you can check out below!
