On September 28th, Rhythmeet 2024 happened at Sunway Putra Mall’s FunScape Cobay Arcade. Following an unforeseen cancellation earlier this year, it was great to see this celebration of the local rhythm game community revived with a gusto!
The event brought together a mix of performances, interactive rhythm games, and art booths designed to celebrate the connections between music, art, and community. Some of the highlighted games included MaiMaiDX, Chunithm, and osu!, as well as a special exhibition of MaiMai Finale.
The playable zones of the event were the most popular, with attendees of all ages coming together to play and watch each other challenge games like MaiMaiDX, Chunithm, and osu! The playful atmosphere encouraged attendees to have more fun and step out of their comfort zones to interact with fellow rhythm game fans.
There were also music performances that captivated attendees from start to finish. Local talents kaycee and Taka Kazuki showcased their talent throughout the day, with an after-party performance featuring Takehirotei and Tomato to wrap up the one-day event.
In addition to the music aspect of the event, Rhythmeet also featured an area for local artists to showcase their creative work inspired by rhythm game franchises. Attendees could browse and purchase unique artwork from prints to keychains, and even meet the artists behind the art.
The event concluded successfully as attendees left with fun memories of the event. Rhythmeet created a space where likeminded rhythm games fans could foster a sense of community, making it a highlight at Sunway Putra Mall.
