Trick or Treat! We at THE MAGIC RAIN had the spoopiest time at the Halloween Party x Luigi’s Mansion 3 Launch Party organized by ATO Online Store. Held at its Setapak branch, the event was catered for those looking for some spooky fun in light of Halloween and those celebrating the release of a fan-favourite game, Luigi’s Mansion 3. While it was a relatively simple affair, there were various activities in store for us and here’s what we thought about them!
Most Scariest Costume Award
What’s Halloween without the costumes galore? Participants came in their scariest costumes with the hope of becoming the fan favourite among the rest to win one of the elusive prizes available. With horror-themed prizes (from first to third) such as Purple Yellow Joy-con controllers, a copy of Luigi’s Mansion 3, and a Luigi Hori pouch, it was no wonder everyone was dressing up to the nines.
The competition was 100% based on the crowd’s votes and to be eligible to vote in the contest, all one needed to do was to purchase a beverage from the ATO Gaming Cafe. In usual circumstances, it would have been a tough decision for the crowd to make, but the first place winner went above and beyond with his costume as Licker from Resident Evil! Definitely an uncontested win.

Just Dance Competition
Other than the cosplay competition, a Just Dance competition was held to see who had the best dancing skills among those present. The participants definitely had a lot of fun dancing their hearts out, and the winner walked away with a Nintendo Switch game, Lost Sphear!

ATO Gaming Cafe’s Themed Food and Drinks
It was time for a treat! One of the highlights of the evening would of course, be the Halloween-themed food and beverages prepared by the ATO Gaming Cafe! Serving the limited edition Red Devil Eye and Cupcakes, the treats looked really good, and tasted delicious too!
We also tried their fizzy lemon drinks series, namely Snow White and The Hulk. It was really refreshing – especially after a long day of work. Shout-out to the baristas of ATO Gaming Cafe as they did a marvelous job with the food and beverages of the night!

Conclusion
All in all, approximately 80 people attended the party, and it was heartening to see the local gaming community gathering together for a night of laughter and fun.
I personally hope to see more events like this being organized for the community as it’s a great opportunity to bond with others of similar interest and share the love for gaming. I really liked the fact that people of all ages joined in too, even families!
