‘Cyberpunk: Edgerunners’ Gets Sequel Series From CD PROJEKT RED And Studio Trigger

CD PROJEKT RED will once again team up with Studio TRIGGER to create a new standalone anime series set in the world of Cyberpunk 2077, titled Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The news was first announced during the company’s panel at the currently-ongoing Anime Expo in Los Angeles.

The new 10-episode series will be directed by Kai Ikarashi, taking over from Hiroyuki Imaishi, who directed the original Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. Bartosz Sztybor will return as story writer and producer, alongside lead character designer Kanno Ichigo and screenplay writer Masahiko Otsuka.

“David’s story might be over, but there’s plenty more to discover in Night City. And to again have the legendary animation studio TRIGGER along for the ride makes us at CD PROJEKT RED so excited to introduce a raw, real chronicle of redemption and revenge, something unlike what we’ve done before,” shared Sztybor.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will release on Netflix sometime in the future. More information about the anime can be found on the official website.
